Get Your Drink On!

I am glad it is Friday. Today's drink is Missouri Jackass!

The name has special meaning to me. My hubs lost a Best friend and one of my best friends lost her hubby. This weekend a year ago we celebrated with her family. We are getting together this weekend to celebrate again in memory of him. He loved to drink and loved his Beer. If there was a 12 pack in the fridge he couldn't stop at 3 or 6 he had to finish whatever was in there. My hubs had the ringtone on his cell phone for his best friend set to the song Jackass, due to our friend going around calling everyone a Jackass. So when I saw this recipe name it was perfect. He wasn't from Missouri but it is where he spent the last 5 months of his life and where he and his wife planed to live the rest of their lives together. I miss you man! This ones for you!

Again another simple recipe. Here's a look at what you need...

12 oz can of Beer
6 oz light Rum
6oz frozen Limeade concentrate

Combine ingredients in the pitcher and stir well. This makes aprox. 4 cups...
I suggest doubling it. I did not due to last weeks drink being so nasty I was scared this would be shitty too! It is not. I see that this is very similar to a Beer Margarita. I would love that due to the Tequila involved. This, in my opinion, is just a Redneck version of a Beer Margarita! It isn't bad. I was surprised!
Our friend might not have touched the stuff but if he was drunk enough I bet he would have!!
I love you man!!

When I was young I didn't like the taste of beer. Someone said to try mixing beer and lemonade...that is very tasty... I was just 18! Now I love my beer with pizza and football...tis nothing better!!

Tune in next week when I will feature....oh I have no fucking clue what I am going to feature next week. Open for ideas...not that I will run with it but I may!
Have a FUN and SAFE weekend!

Let me be Clear

I was absolutely sick with the thought that anyone would even come close to thinking that my blogging was coming between my hubby and I. I said it has caused some tension...that means he has been annoyed by the couple days that I lost track of time and did absolutely nothing in the house. He has my blog feed in a widget on his Mac, he has been frustrated/irritated with my inability thus far at finding a balance. It takes me longer than most to find that and I am also the type of gal that doesn't do well with being told what to do. That is the sure fire way to get me to NOT do it. humm maybe that is why I am a SAHM? It really boils down to my addictive personality and it taking longer than most at finding a happy medium. I know that everyone was trying to help, to be supportive and I truly appreciate it. I had to clarify for my sake, for my peace of mind.

In case anyone missed it here is the one comment I made on my Monday post it might help to clarify a few things....

Kaytabug said...

OK peeps I said fun happy comments!!! Thanks for the support though. It's not that my blogging and reading them are coming between us... it really isn't there...yet...I don't want it to get their either...yesterday was a wake up call and it had absolutely nothing to do with my blogging.

I have my own CPU and Hubs has his own and there is even one for the oldest son to play games on... I almost wish I had to share! I do let the oldest guy play online games on mine every once in a while as "his" cpu isn't hooked up to the net.

I think I was writing down what I need to do as I know what I need and maybe getting it out there will help me to do that. At least WT made me laugh even though he was serious when he said 30 minutes reading...what a hoot! I have already thought that at the least I will do Mon Wed and Fri posts and if time and inspiration hit then I'll do more than that.

I have to address a few peeps here.....sorry I'm not commenting to all of you!

Willowtree...thanks for your advice but COME ON! 30 minutes of blog reading? That's like a Hershey's kiss to a chocoholic!! You will always make me laugh even when you are being MOST serious. You have helped me a lot...Firefox is a blessing and I am doing much better at limiting my read/comment time. Thank you!

Debs: Thanks for commenting on my photos...I thought I had some great ones!!

chrisb: rethink...I like that... I even have one of the photo copied ones that they highlighted! Am I holding on to the anger much? I do not let much in life stop me.

Susan: it is not about the reaction to the photo of me that scares me it has to do with the fear of me loosing my ability to write freely if someone in real life were to recognize me.

Joy t: Right on! Support and caring from "strangers" is amazing to me, and probably a reason why I will find a way to continue!

Robinella: Blog junkies? I have no blog junkies silly girl! but, this is for your fix:
Fuckity fuck fuck fuck. I don't give a flying Fuck. I could give 2 shits! Mother fucker. Fucking asshole! Jackass! Son of a bitch! Cock smokin' piece of shit. Oh holy Fuck what are my Google hits going to be now???

Karmyn R and Jenni: I had thought of using a timer...Thanks for suggesting it...I feel it is a better idea coming from you gals!!

wolfbaby: Thanks for the ideas for photos of me...I'll get there eventually!

TOB: Thank you!! Such a sweet bear you are!!!

TLG: LMAO Thanks!!

To all that was appalled by what the step monster did and those that thought it was great I still continued after that violation... Thank you! Like I said to chrisb I do not let much in life stop me. I wasn't going to let what that bitch did stop me from something that was therapeutic for me. I was a teenager and a very rebellious one when she did what she did. I was doing things that a 12-15 year old shouldn't be doing if I had been in a house with discipline and rules. My mom was never good at such things hence why I was getting away with doing such bad things. I trusted my Mom to not read my diaries that is one of the big reasons I continued. If I had to be over at my Dad's I never took a diary with me. I do not know how well I would deal with the betrayal if my Dad and step witch had stayed together. They divorced 6 -7 years after that...so I do not have to deal with her now.

I feel better now. We're crystal clear right? No way in hell blogging is even remotely close to coming between my hubby and I. Good Great Grand! Thanks again for all of your support!!!
Now back to your regularly scheduled program!

Rear View

Today's title was courtesy of Debs. I thought this title was simply perfect. Thanks to everyone that gave me support last week and now this week for something totally unrelated to last week! I tried telling you these hot ones were so hot they were burning holes in my folder!! They are speaking for themselves this week...

I tried to warn you.... (enter engine revving here)

Fun Monday: Confessions of a Diary

Today's Fun Monday is being hosted by Lisa's Chaos.

She said, I’d like to know more about you, what makes you tick. I’d like to know how you started blogging. Did you keep a diary under lock and key safely hidden as a child? Do you still? Do you share the same things on your blog that you would have, or do, in your diary? Why did you start blogging and why do you continue? May as well throw in any roadblocks you have run into while blogging. If you still have your old diaries we’d love to see them.

I started blogging June 3rd of this year. I am such a newbie! I got started due to my BFF. She sent me a link to her blog and a week or 2 later there I was starting my own. I thought that it would be a great way to vent. Maybe writing is better for me since I SUCK at typing and spelling but I care about my spelling cuz other ppl are going to read my shit. It has been therapeutic but it has also been very addicting and has caused some tension in my marriage.

No I do not share the same things I would in a diary only because most entry's have to do with the hubs and I try to keep those personal things personal. Aside from that yes I do tell everything I would share with my "Dear Praising Loving Secret Diary" or D.P.L.S.D. for short, that is how I started off my entries when I was 10. That lasted 5 days, after which I just got right down to business!

This is the inside cover of my 10 yr old diary. Pretty comical!

This is the oldest one I could find. I have no idea if I had started one before 10 or not. I kept many off and on throughout HS and well on into adulthood. I wish I had kept better diary's after my babies were born...but life just took over. My Mom and I have our definition of Diary and Journal switched. To me a Journal is something you write down who came to visit, what the weather was, stuff that you could care less who read it. To my Mom a Journal is PRIVATE. She doesn't want anyone reading her Journals. Now for me a Diary is what I don't want you reading. I have been violated in that area before. My X-Step-mom snooped for my diary and found a few and photo copied them and her and my Dad took my Mom to court trying to say she was an unfit mother....Mom and I won! It amazes me I ever kept another diary again. I always kept them at my Mom's after that.

Here are a few of my diaries. I loved the cover of the black/silver/green one but I quit writing in it as I cant stand to write with gel pens and the colored gel was all that showed up the best on the black paper inside!

So I started to blog to vent and lately I have been struggling with continuing ...I know I know I have posted about this before. It is getting more serious. I have not been able to just spend one hr in the am and then one-2 hrs at night. If I could do that, if I had that self control...but I haven't found that self control yet. I need to and quick or I will walk away. And I don't want to leave. I have felt guilty the entire time I have been typing this post. That this should be the LAST thing on my mind. I did consider typing a post saying something came up and I cant get one up as much I was LOVING this topic. I thought of just posting the pictures...but I said NO! The events of my day will not keep away. It ruined so much of my day that I wasnt going to give it that power here. However it may come in to play in the near future. I am just so emotionally drained today...well it is now midnight for me so spilling on into a new day and tomorrow is going to be tuff...I mean today will be tuff.In my head it is still Sunday. So that is my roadblock. Originally my roadblock was going to be putting recent photos of myself on my blog. I don't know why I am so hesitant to do it...why I am afraid or whatever the reason is. It really perplexes me.

So there you have it. I wished I would have done this earlier in the week it would have been much more fun!!! Please send me fun happy comments...I need those.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday. She doesn't even know I have a blog...I am pretty sure she doesn't even know what one is. However, if she knew that anyone on the net, in the whole wide world could see her photo if they found my blog she would have a HUGE fit! Thinking about that makes me feel really bad that I am going to put her picture out here, I have been very considerate about not putting anything on my blog that I don't get approval for first...with the exception of yesterday but I knew she would be fine with that... So, even though my Mom doesn't like this photo I on the other hand LOVE it. I think this is a college photo. I think what she doesnt like about it is the hair...but come on! Almost everyone had that hair back then... just like most every tween/teen and young 20's had the HIGH aqua net bangs in the 80's! I hate those pics of me so I get her dislike. But LOOK at her!
Oh she is so pretty. I'll say it, she was HOT! There is not an ounce of ugly there, well the hair style isn't all that but it was the in thing...and ok that plaid jacket thing eww but other than that not an ounce!!I always hated being told that I looked just like my Mom when I was growing up. I would argue and say" Nuh uh! No way! We look nothing alike!" One day I came across a pic, it could be this one, but it was color tinted...I remember telling my Mom, "Mom,what happened? You were hot!" She should have slapped me, I know. I am almost wondering if she didn't say " You is what happened!" That is totally what happened to me.

She is not the typical girly girl. Ever since I can remember my Mom has never worn makeup. She tossed the contacts and has worn glasses all her life. She always had the wash-n-go hair. Never dyed it...wait her and her younger sis just told me of when she would highlight my Mom's hair. I was floored! When she started to gray she never tried to hide it and she grayed gracefully. I loved her salt-n-pepper hair. Now there is no more pepper. I no longer deny that I look like my Mommy. I am actually proud and have been known to say it first. I love my Mommy so much and I hate that she keeps getting older. I can't imagine my life without her in it. I know the day will come when she is no longer here and I know that I will be a wreck because I am bawling like a baby as I type this.

Here is an excerpt from my Diary:

"August 25, 1986

Today was my moms birthday I gave her a card and a smelly incense thing that had a locket on it. She took me out to Big Cheese Pizza. I love her so much. Bye."

I corrected all my misspellings.

Now I am off to call my Mom, sing her the birthday song and read her that entry!
I love you Mommy! xoxoxoxoxox

*************************************************************************************
I had thought of leaving my misspellings in so here it is...

"August25,1986

Today was my moms birthday I gave her a cardand a Smelly incens ting that had a looket on it. She took me out to Big Chezz Paiza. I Love her so much. Bye"

Get Your Drink On!

Welcome to a very special edition. This Fridays drink is in honor of my BFF Fianna as her Birthday is coming up in the next few days. When I came across the drink titled the
Red Headed Stepchild

I knew it must have been named after her! ;) So without further ado lets get going!

Here is the photo of all that is needed today...

So it is very simple get a can of Mountain Dew Code Red and your industrial size bottle of white Rum,a Collins glass(any glass that will hold 9 oz of liquid will do...have to have room for the ice too) and a measure thingy if ya got one!
Put ice in your glass. Pour in 1 and 1/2 oz rum in the glass. Pour 6 and 1/2 oz dew into the glass...it is approx half the can...a tad more than half...feel free to measure if you are anal. Enjoy!

Now if there is anyone that hates or dislikes the taste of anything cherry, more specifically fake cherry please skip this drink. It is vile. I loath all things fake cherry that includes maraschinos too. So this is about the only thing that is getting tossed down the sink. I know, I know it's wasting precious alcohol but I am trying and I keep gaging!
It looks so good and refreshing, and for cherry lovers it will totally ROCK!

I have been trying to figure out what to feature next week...part of the reason this post is so late! I didn't do my homework early in the week like I usually do. Anyway since Next weekend is Labor Day weekend here in the states I have one that you can make by the pitcher and one pitcher serves about 4...I know for all the popular kids out there that isn't enough!
Tune in next Friday when I will show you a Missouri Jackass!

Oh! here is the other Red Headed Stepchild.....
This is why I do not have many pictures of her, I have loads like this one...most of the others are ones that look like I am choking her while getting her to face the camera for a photo! I did have a very EVIL looking one that would have been perfect, but I knew she would have said no as I would have gotten her approval before posting it! This one...naaahhh! I love you sweetie!

Note: My BFF is the biological offspring of her wonderful parents.

"You like me, You really like me!!!" I have to say it was refreshing to read everyones comments yesterday. Thank you all so much for being you!! Like I mentioned in my comment I have been attacked before in real life for my views/opinions...so I am sure there are ppl like that out in the blog world too. It looks as though my ppl gage is working even on the internet...I found some good peeps or maybe its just the good ones have found me. Either way I am thankful!

I am off to do something insane which is take my 3 and 4 yr old out in public on my own,ALONE. The kiddo leashes are coming with me and I'm letting them know what I expect while on the way there. I want to go on a search at the used bookstore too see if I can find a few of my favorites for the bookswap that I am being brave and participating in!! Either I am loosing my mind or becoming more comfortable in my blog world....it is probably a lil of both!! Go check out the link if you want to join, you have til the 28th of Aug. to sign up!

My nose hurts! Last night as I was going in for my goodnight kiss with my middle guy he decides to meet me halfway...and his forehead slams the middle of my nose!!!! Fuck!!! The only good thing to come of it is it may break my nasty habit of picking it!!

If I babble much longer I'll never leave. Oh, go head over to Swampy's place its her One year Blogiversary!!

Peace out!

***mini edit***
I just wanted to say there will be a rather large follow up Edit to this post after my kids are in bed....good times....good times....

***********************************************************************************

Now the rest of the story….

I fed my 2 guys, we drove the 30 minutes to get to the nearest bookstore…sad I know! On the way I talk to them about what I expect: hold my hands, NO running, if I have to let go of your hand (I only have 2, I do not have 6) you stay close enough so I can touch you, no screaming, listen to mommy and do what I tell you to do….

I go over the quick version again as I open the car door. I get eye contact, I’m on their level I have at least the oldest repeat what I expect. We are holding hands…all is good. The bookstore is awesome. Lots of nic nacks and breakables…WTF?! This isn’t supposed to be a china shop! So, I was in a high end new to me book store! Nothing was in alphabetical order. COME ON! They don’t take just any old book so why throw them on the shelves willy nilly? Hmm? Its at this point after only 3 to 5 minutes of me looking for the book that the natives get restless. I am trying to read titles while keeping them engaged “find that color” “ohh do you see that monkey?” still not happy.

Oh look here! There is a place to walk over to the next isle of shelving right in the middle of the first isle! They have their tall bookshelf rows put together like a fucking maize!!! Are you kidding me? My boys are gone and what do they find but the counter where their cash register is and what starts at my hip and goes all the way to the damn floor? Yup you guessed it CANDY! My boys grab and ask, and I say not if you keep running. You have to stay with me, not run and use your inside voice! They were screaming and loud and totally ruining the ambiance!

This is the point where I ask to see if they have a certain book. Boys start running again. I threaten leash which makes the youngest go berserk with his screaming. She says no, and laughs at my title… I go check out the kids books! My boys love reading. I got maybe 3 minutes of them looking through the books so I could see what they had. I found 2 good kids books and one book my middle guy picked out. I would never tell my child they cant have a book because they aren’t being good.

Through all of this there was a LOT more running through the maize and I mean MASSIVE amounts. I asked about another book and the answer was no. It is all such a blur now…I did put the leash on the middle guy but he played tug-o-war with me. The youngest did more running and blood curdling screams when I told him to stop running or I would put the leash on him. Yeah I could only find one. I know I have 3! So I check out, trying to sign my name while the middle guy is still trying to play tug-o-war and the youngest is screaming because I said NO to the CANDY because he was a bad boy and didn’t listen. I had to carry the youngest out. Middle guy figured out how to take the leash off….I let him. They fussed about not wanting to get in the car. Then they thought they got gum…NO you were BIG PIECES OF SHIT…I didn’t say that but it was screaming in my head. Then it was, “now we get to go to a park”. A what? Nope no way no how…you don’t act like you just did in public and get rewarded. I had told them we would go if they were good. So they got nothin’ At least I stuck to my guns, could have maybe threatened more in the store reminded what they were going to loose…counted to 3 or something. I knew I was out of my mind taking them out in public. I even mentioned to the store worker that I knew I was nuts doing this before I even left the house, that this was why I never take them anywhere. She even asked me again if I was sure I didn’t want to have them order the book. I said naah I have read it.

The Mother Trip: Hip Mama’s Guide to Staying Sane in the Chaos of Motherhood.

Very fitting wasn’t it?

I have to say my re-telling of my disastrous outing does not even come close to the hell that was those maybe 30 minutes spent in the store. I sure felt like I was that mother that everyone talks about…”oh she needs to control her kids”

I never gave in!

Junk from the Trunk

I thought that was a very funny title idea from Sauntering Soul. I will be rotating this title so if anyone comes up with anything else please let me know!!
I have to say that I do not feel any of these to be "junk"...just wanted to be clear on that!

I have to get it off my chest. I love having readers and blog peeps that are starting to like me but I'd rather loose them now than later on. I am bringing out the hot topics now, the issues that ppl feel passionate about one way or the other. I don't think that there is much middle ground. I am me, this is who I am and what I feel passionately about. If you are unable to still like someone even though their beliefs are different than yours that is very sad, and I feel sorry for you. So from here on out my stickers are going to reflect what I feel strongly about, which means most likely controversial stuff, but I will still try to keep at least one of them light and funny! I can't be an activist 24/7! I am NOT the activist that tries to change others views on a subject either. We are all entitled to our own opinion, I will respect it even though it may be different than mine. I am Free to be Me! Thanks to all the troops past and present that have made that a reality!
I choose to keep my 3 boys and #1 and # 3 were the hardest choices I have ever had to make. I am thankful that I had the freedom to choose.

Nothing against Texas but he is one dumb SOB!

I breastfed 2 out of 3. I never came across this type of discrimination as I was in Europe while I breastfed my last 2. If I had ever received any this surely would have been my expletive free retort!
Who am I kidding there would have been LOADS of expletives in that retort!

Fun Monday: Sweet Little Lies

Today's Fun Monday is hard and is being hosted by Theotherbear and Uncaringbear. They asked us to:

Share with us a little white lie that you may, or may not, have gotten away with. Perhaps it's something more sinister than a little white lie - maybe even a deep dark secret that you've kept buried for years! All the better! Now's your chance to get it off your chest and confess: "Yes, I did eat that last slice of cheese cake", "No, I wasn't washing my hair that Saturday", "Those pants do make you look fat"!

I have had the hardest time trying to think of a lie. When I told my BFF to go check out the assignment I then asked her," How the HELL am I drawing a blank???" My bestest friend in the whole wide world said,"Because once you create a lie it becomes the truth. How can you remember it when you begin to believe it!" I immediately told her to,"SHUT UP!" I know that she was just pullin' my chain but she is right and oh so wise and sage-like!!

I know I lied LOADS as a child and as a teenager...and as a young adult. All harmless lies.
Like when my kids ask me if there are any more Ice cream sandwiches I say "No."When I was 16 and 17 I would lie and say I was 18 to get into clubs and then once I was 18 I'd lie and say I was 21 to get in and drink. Or like when I was single and out at bars and was asked to dance I'd say "No, thank you. I am waiting for my boyfriend." Or if I was talking to a guy and was asked if I was seeing anyone I'd say "YES." when I really wasn't. I even went so far as to wear an engagement ring to the clubs in hopes to ward off men. Whoa! I was totally full of myself... oh wait I still am! Go check out the post below this one! Self love baby!! Who said I was modest?

I am really good at the truth when its not really the truth but it is the truth. Like when people use to ask me where I worked I would say "I work at a bar." which was totally true!!! Or when I would come home as a teenager after a night of partying sometimes my Mom would be sitting up waiting for me and she would ask if I had been drinking. I could truthfully say "No."!

When it comes to someone wanting my opinion...I can not tell a lie there. I will tell you if the jeans make you look fat. I will tell you your new haircut looks hideous. I will tell you that shade of lipstick is not your color. Only if those things are true in my opinion. But I will not offer up what I think if I am not asked. Don't ask I won't tell! So if I give you a compliment then you know beyond a shadow of doubt that I am sincere!

Now if you want to talk secrets....I have LOADS of those. I guess they aren't really secrets due to a few ppl knowing about what happened either by being there or by my re-telling. Yesterday my mom and I were talking about a neighbor having a B-day sleep over for her son. She said "I could never have more than one over for you." I called BS "I know of at least one B-day slumber party you had for me that had at least 4 other girls besides me. I remember drinking shots of Peppermint Schnapps in dixie cups." My Mom promptly said my FULL name in shock and horror!!! I said "What??? It's not like I lied about anything." I really thought I had already shared that with her.Oops! Neither Fianna, my Mom, nor myself can remember which B-day that was for certain. I'm really thinking it was 10. I have tons of those kinds of "secrets" they aren't lies and I guess not really secrets and not lies of omission either. So what are they called??

I am feeling like a very bad bad girl. I am going to go read my self love meme to feel better again. If you want to go check out other lies or those that are too good to lie like WT(yeah right!) those too uncomfortable to talk about lies (sorry WT!) then head over to the Bear's cottage.

Shower Me with My Love...meme

I really wasn't tagged but my BFF keeps hounding me to do this meme where I talk about 10 reasons why I kick ass...Rock... like myself. Little does she know that soon after I have posted my attributes a post will come of Hyde's commentary to Jekyll's love fest. I think this meme's official title is called the Stuart Smalley Meme.

10 Things I like/love about ME!

In no particular order....

  1. To quote ZZ Top," She's got legs, she knows how to use them." I like my extremely long sexy(to me) legs! Yes, I know how to use them too!
  2. I love that I experienced giving birth naturally, without ANY drugs to a 10lb baby! I am proud of that fact and proud of me!
  3. I love that I do not beat around the bush, pussyfoot, sugar coat, or shove sunshine. I am blunt, outspoken and to the point. I will tell you what I think, feel, believe. If you don't want to know that you in deed look fat in that dress don't ask me. I also call bullshit when I see it. Which leads me to...
  4. I love my inner sense, my intuition. I am really good at telling when someone or something is off. I know when I am being lied to. I have a good gage. I smell your load of crap a mile away, and I will most likely call you on it. The blog world is saved however...I have to be in your physical presence or over the phone. I also have a good radar when it comes to my close ones being sad or out of sorts and if I listen and pay attention to my feelings then I call or go by which leads me too...
  5. I am the best friend. I am thoughtful, caring, I go out of my way to help or just be there. I will go broke just to buy something that made me think of my friends, or go broke if they needed something. I'd give them anything I have if it made their life easier. I am loyal. I am there until they decide they no longer need me and then if 10 years down the road they come back into my life I will still be there. I will be there when I no longer roam this earthly plane in the shell that is my body. But I do not tolerate being used. Like I mentioned in #4, I can tell when you are a user, I can tell when you are not real. I am no ones doormat. Which kind of leads me to....
  6. I am the best advocate for my children. I have fought very hard for my oldest sons rights. I will do the same for the younger two if I have to. If my friends needed an advocate I would be the one to call. I fight for what is right, for what I believe... I fight against what I feel to be wrong. I am strong in my convictions. I am WOMAN! I am overly active in my children's schooling but I know my limits and homeschooling would be the quickest one way ticket to the Funny Farm. I admire those that can and I admire myself for knowing I cant, and knowing that I do everything else in my power to be involved.
  7. I Rock out to music. I love my eclectic taste in music. I love to sing it too. When my hubby asks me "Who sings this song?" I say "ME!" and I keep rockin' it! I sing it loud and proud and I don't care who sees or hears. I was in singing groups in High school. I thought I was good...When Idol first came out I watched the tapes from HS and I realized I never would have received a Golden Ticket even in the first season! This is still self love cuz what I love about me is I love to sing and I am not embarrassed and I have enough sense to know not to make a fool of myself by acting like I can sing or tell you that I am good! Music makes me HAPPY! I love that I know Music is therapy and so is singing along!!!
  8. I love that I care about Mother Earth, that I am working towards making it a better place for not only my 3 boys but for their children and their children's children. I recycle all my paper/cardboard, all the plastic containers/bottles, my glass, aluminum cans, tin cans, my dead batteries. I do lots of little things to re-use items before it gets recycled. Every time a light bulb goes out I replace it with a CFL. I compost. I buy E 85 for my car. I replace cleaning products with green ones as I run out. I got my middle guy's preschool teacher to recycle paper in the classroom and I took it to recycle when I go. I am in the process of getting at least a paper recycle program started at my oldest son's school. My list goes on and on... I love that I am green and that I am passing this down to my kids.
  9. I am a glass is half full kinda girl. I like that I feel everything happens for a reason. I may never find out the reason but I will find that silver lining. I am an optimist ...a huge complaining optimist.
  10. To quote Stuart Smalley,"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me." I LOVE ME!
Now it is your turn to shower yourself with love, self love..."All you need is Love..." I want to see it too...I'll be watching and waiting to see why you Rock!

Get Your Drink On!

TGIF which means I get to try a new drink to feature for you! You may try it at home, a bar, a restaurant or just read about it and enjoy the pictures!

This weeks drink is Bloated Bag of Monkey Spunk. First let's take a look at what I have to work with...

If you do not own a cocktail shaker do not fear...just go to your nearest Chili's and have the El Presidente Margarita and buy the shaker! Well you don't have to do that, it's just how I got mine. You do not need a Cocktail Shaker to make this drink any bottle with a lid that will keep liquid in when you shake will work. I see no reason why you need the strainer unless you have OJ with the pulp, on second thought it may just be the "spunk" this recipe needs!!

* 1 oz white rum
* 1 oz Peach Schnapps
* 1/2 oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur
* 1 oz Orange juice
* 1 oz Pineapple Juice

Pour all of that into your shaker and shake it all up so your boobs get a good jiggle! Then pour/strain in a glass with ice. It calls for a Tom Collins glass which is a tall slender glass...but any glass that holds 5+ounces of liquid will do! If your into pretty...garnish with a cherry...I however feel it's what's inside that counts!

I did not use Grand Marnier because I thought that spending $35 on a bottle of liquor was insanity, also I couldn't afford it. Someday I may just throw down all those greenbacks just to taste it...it does go tasty in quite a few drinks...but I went with a knock off that was at least half the price, bonus: it was from Italy!!

This drink is delicious! I had 2! I wanted a third but then I realized I downed the 2 on an empty stomach and was already feeling like I had a 6 pack o' beer or a bottle or 2 of wine! I will be making this again and again. Just to let you know...I love Fuzzy navels...this is similar to one of those. The name of the drink deceives! Please let me know if you try this and what you thought! I found a new favorite! Join me next week when I do one in honor of my BFF
The Red Headed Stepchild!

Oh poo!

My Mom is visiting. Which means less blogging for me...I have to keep it on the DL...in case you are not hip that is Down Low! But do not fear, you will still get your drink on tomorrow!! I just wanted to share that #3 has pooped in his potty 2 days in row now! Which I know is not enough to throw a party but it is far better than the 5 days straight of getting shit out of his underwear, followed by a day's rest from pooping, then on day 7 he shits out in the yard, at least not in his undies, then on the 8th day he shit in his underwear again! He went to the bathroom and instead of pulling the drawers down he just shit in them, then took them off got poo on his hands, legs and feet...which smeared the poo on the floor, he wiped his poo hands on my towel. As I walk into this mess I let him know my extreme disappointment in him. As I am cleaning him up I called him a baby, that big boys don't shit in their underwear. I told him if he shit in his underwear again it was diapers for his ass. (I cursed but not like I am now) I ranted at him in a very raised voice, told him I was sick of this blah blah blah...later I felt bad for being such a bitch to my lil guy. Day 9 he pooped in the potty. Day 10 another successful BM in his potty chair! I guess shitty parenting works out sometimes.

I still feel bad. But Fuck! I was sick and tired of dealing with his ....oohhh... it just dawned on me why I could have lost my potty patience with him and it starts with another P.... I can't blame my whole entire rant on Aunt Flo but she is at least a factor. I do get bitchy a few days to a week prior to that bitch knocking on my door. Well it all makes more sense now... it does not excuse my behavior, I will be spending the weekend trying to forgive myself. Let me remind the reader that I tell it like it is, I do not sugar coat my life nor do I blow sunshine up anyones ass.

Wisdom from the Rear

OK so I went with the first idea presented to me as I suck when it comes to making decisions. Stephanie was the first to offer a title idea for my hump day fun with bumper stickers. I loved Debs simple "Rear View" and Sauntering Soul had loads of ideas that I found funny...especially "Junk from the Trunk"! Who knows maybe I will have a rotating title... If you have another idea let me know. If I like it I'll add it to my rotating list of titles!

The first might be kinda hard to read...it says " When will someone have the balls to castrate Rapists?" My answer..."When a woman with the figurative balls does it!" If they still rape after that "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!"

I am getting sick and tired of seeing ppl driving while holding their cell phone...shoulder or hand it still pisses me off. It is so unsafe. The COPS around here drive while talking on their cell phone. Save a life or 2 or 8 and wear a fucking ear piece!
I will leave you with a laugh...I am still laughing my ass off!!! Happy Hump Day!!

I've got a new Drug...

... It is called "Jeff Dunham Arguing with Myself". If laughter is the best medicine than this DVD is my new drug!!! This whole clip is well worth the 10 minutes. If you do not have that right now go to 6:30 and watch until 5:37.There is a bit in there that I keep laughing at and I have heard the 2 lines like 30 times in just the past few days and I still roll!!

But I have to say again, all of it is hilarious and 10 minutes well spent!

Fun Monday Extravagance

Yippee! Fun Monday! This is the Fun Monday where I gain 10 more pounds!!! Woo hoo!
Today's hostess is Beckie at Give it a try, she wants to know what our favorite treats are. I will gain 5 lbs just looking at everyone else's treats! I will gain 5 more eating all the treats I bought. I know I know, I didn't have to buy so many... I don't normally buy myself treats only thing I do regularly get is Ice cream. I guess what I am trying to say is I am over due for a lil pampering, it's time to enjoy a delicacy or 2 or 10. It is recommend that you eat if you haven't already done so before viewing the rest of this post. The author of this blog is not responsible for the readers hunger pains or anything that is destroyed due to the readers attempt at eating a non-edible object, or short circuiting their laptop by excessive drool!

First off let me say that I LOVE FOOD. I really love food that someone else makes. My friend M. makes delicious food. Anything she makes is a treat for me. Pretty much any food that anyone else that can cook/bake makes is a treat for me. It always tastes better when I am not the one who has to cook/bake it. Now that you have a lil' history let us begin.

I have loved these Teddy Bears for as long as I can remember!
These are very special...Kansas tater chips. They are thick crunchy kettle style chip. Back in the day when they first came out they only had original, plain, and now they have more flavors and this one is my favorite. I love pepper. These are the best tater chips ever!!! Check out their website if you want to!
This is what I will be having with my coffee this morning while I drool over your treats!
I might be having some of these for breakfast as well...I don't buy those shortbread cookies often because I will eat the whole box in one sitting. I have no will power when it comes to their deliciousness! Ok, same goes for all the other cookies in the photo too! That is why they are a true indulgence for me!
I love chocolate and here are my favorite chocolate squares. They are both #1. The other things are like what WT showed but with out the chocolate...They are filled with hazelnut cream and rolled in hazelnuts...
Who am I kidding?! This is my Breakfast plate this Monday!
You know what would go splendid with my Breakfast plate of delicacy? WINE!
Wine is not a treat for me but the 3 wines pictured are. The one in the middle is my all time favorite German wine. I have not been able to find it here in the states. It was a very good year that year for vineyards...
The other 2 are the best bottles of Kansas wine that were ever made. The below photo has a brief history...but this winery closed in 2004 due to the kids not wanting to continue on with the family business and sold it! I was crushed! Now, go drool on someone else's blog why don't ya?!
Bet you wish this was scratch and sniff!!!

Inquiring Minds

Last night the hubs and I watched the movie "300". We had the kids downstairs watching a kid friendly movie so we could enjoy the "mommy/daddy" movie. Yeah right! I lost track of how many times we had to pause the movie due to one or 2 tromping up the stairs for one thing or another. The little 2 seemed totally 100% disinterested in "Aurthur and the Invisibles" The 9 yr old totally into it! Go figure!

The main reason I am coming to you today is the effects in this movie were amazing! I find it hard to believe that 300 men had 8 packs. I mean come on! All these Spartans were unrealistically ripped!! So that leads me to think that they digitally enhanced these men. The abs, the pecks, the glutes, the oh so muscular thighs, the biceps the quadriceps....I could go on and on... I am sure these men worked out for the movie... but I still think some help was needed to make them look that good. OK, that is all I had!

Get your Drink on!

Jenni gave me a great idea! It couldn't have come on a better day than Friday. I was just thinking the other day about Friday's and how much I used to LOVE Fridays. Back in my school days it meant the last day of school and the WEEKEND! I can not lie, from the time I was 16 it also meant PARTY! I got into 18 and over clubs when I was 16 and 17. Once I was 18 most times I got stamped as 21... I did the majority of my drunken youth before I hit 21. 21 is still my favorite # but it became my fave # around the age of 10. This post is headed somewhere else I will save that for another day! But I still haven't made it to my point that I was thinking about how Fridays use to signal clubs and drunk fests for me. At one point it would start on Wednesdays...again I am getting off track here.

Fridays on my blog are going to be Get your drink on! Where I will showcase a new alcoholic drink that you can try or just read about. Whichever tickles your fancy! Since Jenni doesn't know what a Mojito is that is the drink I will feature today. Gather up your mojo and lets get started!

A Mojito is a traditional Cuban drink. It is a cool refreshing summertime drink. I thought I would love it due to the mint but not so much. Like I said in my previous post it is by no means the vilest drink I have ever tasted. I cheated and bought the pre-made cocktail mix where all I needed to do was add the Rum.The instructions on the back of the bottle say to mix 3 oz of mix to one ounce rum. One of their caps is an ounce...how convenient! They also say to put it in a High ball glass with ice. Don't feel bad if you do not own a High ball glass or if you don't know what one is...my hubby didn't know what one was til I told him and a juice glass works just fine...here let me show you...I never claimed to be a good photographer. I tried no flash but it was too blurry.
So to make it look pretty you can add peppermint or spearmint leaves, which ever you may have. I added none because I have neither and I am not into pretty drinks...I drink them too fast to bother or care about their looks!

Traditionally a Mojito can be served in a Tom Collins glass, which is a tall slender glass, with sprigs of spearmint. For non-lazy folk, those that are not like me, can make a Mojito the traditional way.... as most of you might have all of these ingredient at home all ready!

* 2 ounces of lime juice, approximately the juice from one lime
* 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
* 4 mint leaves
* 1 sprig of mint
* 2 ounces Rum
* 2 ounces Club Soda

You pour your lime juice in the glass, add your leaves, add the sugar and then mash it up to mix those 3 ingredients, you can use a fork or a spoon. Add ice, rum and club soda...stir. Garnish with the sprig. This recipe was not copied verbatim but was found here. You can find more info about the Mojito there. He also solved the mystery of how to pronounce the name of the drink. I would just say Mojeetoe-Moheetoe like one word. I am glad he cleared it up for me! I may have to try that version, I bet it would be tastier with peppermint, or just plain ole home made versus premixed.

Well I can't just let that drink I made for picture purposes go to waste. Thank goodness it's Happy Hour! Yummm I think it might just grow on me...
Tune in next Friday when I will feature Bloated Bag of Monkey Spunk...mmmm I can't wait!

***** EDIT******
So, it looks as though I have confused a highball glass for what is really called an Old Fashioned glass. I am so sorry. I will do my best not to mix up anything except the drinks I will be mixing!

I am not a"muse"d

My muse was not with me today she must have been with someone else...that whore!
One would think that with 3 boys, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a hubby I would have plenty of inspiration to blog about...not today!
The youngest lil' man that I am trying to potty train shit in his under-roos yet again for the 3rd day in a row! Little does he know I have been keeping track of his excrement times. I am keeping an eagle eye on him tomorrow between the hours of 6 and 7 PM.

I tried a Mojito for the first time in my life tonight. At least it wasn't the vilest alcoholic drink I have ever tasted. Once the bottle of Mojito mix is used up I will buy no more and use the industrial size bottle of light rum for yummier beverages...like....an Aussie Beach Blonde, or a Red Headed Stepchild, or a Strawberry-Peach Daiquiri. Oooh, this sounds really good..... a Bloated Bag of Monkey Spunk!

If anyone has any ideas for the title for my Bumper Love on Hump Day please let me know. Only one person has given me a suggestion, it is rather good, you've got nothing to loose...give it a spin and let me know if you think of something!

I tried to tell you my muse left me for another.

Hump Day Bump Day

If anyone has a better idea for what to call this installment series I have started for hump day and bumper sticker love let me know. My creative juices are nonexistent on this topic. Now for this weeks bumper love...

The first one is for my hubby. He hates ppl that ride his ass. I do too but I think it happens to him more often since he is the one that drives back and forth to work everyday!

Another saying I've seen is "No one died when Clinton lied." Nothing but some sperm that is!
This one cracks me up! It is so nee ner nee ner , in your face! If you thump the bible and recycle or drive a hybrid or use the curly light bulbs or anything else to help take care of the Earth let me know. You'd be one of few that this sticker doesn't apply to!

Ready...Aim...Part 2

I really wanted to update, I feel bad for updating about this...but fuck it! This is my blog! I reported Saturday that I was half-assed trying to potty train my 3rd boy, and that it was not going well.
Sunday I dig my heels in and am giving 100%. As soon as he wakes up the diaper comes off and I have him sit on the potty...he goes, cheers, praise, and high fives all around! He sits down to eat his breakfast with a fresh pair of tighy whiteys on. Next thing I know I hear the sound of tinkle(the potty chair is in the living room) he had gotten down from the table, and sat on the chair on his own without my coaxing! I was excited! That is until I see a little white showing...yup that's right. He sat down on the potty and peed in the potty with his undies on! What the FUCK???! I still praise and remind him that he has to pull his undies down before sitting down. He pretty much spent the rest of the day as a nudist.

Monday same fucking thing happens. He pees on the potty with his drawers still on!!! Again spends most of the day in the buff. I go to wally world and get him bigger undies. My theory is that his tighty whiteys are too tight, not in the leave a red mark tight kinda way but in the its too hard for him to easily pull down and up kinda way. He did have great #2 success on Monday, all on his own he thought, "I need to poo" and sat down without any reminders from me!! I was thrilled!

Today, Tuesday, he wakes up...I am still in bed...middle lil' man comes in the room and says #3 peed! I jump up thinking its all over the floor. Nope! He took his diaper off sat down and did his business! I was so proud and told him so!! He told me "I'm proud of me too" I pull out his new bigger better big boy undies and he got to pick from Diego, Superman, and Cars. He choose Superman and boy was he! All day long no accidents. He was able to pull them up and down with ease!Oh, he did have a #2 accident but he was playing downstairs with his brothers and I think it just snuck up on him. Other than that he did great today!! We are getting there. I can tell it wont be long. Next step will be to move the potty chair into the actual bathroom. Maybe by this weekend!

Fun Monday: Apron Love!

Oh yeah! It's Fun Monday! Get your Apron on! I am excited! I heart Aprons! The genius that came up with todays assignment is ChrisB at Ms Cellania who said,"show your aprons!"

Someday I will be able to afford ones like this seamstress makes, not that she is pricey I just don't have enough $$ to splurge on her lovely aprons right now. I was also thinking of trying to make my own for me and as gifts and if I got good to sell. Then I found her and others like her and I gave up on that idea.

The following 3 aprons were purchased at a thrift store. I really liked this one. It was what made me think I could make $$ making these. I thought it was such a great idea to add a washcloth to the apron as a hand towel to wipe you hand on. I know that an apron is for wiping your hands on and keeping your clothes clean, but I thought this was great! I also love those ity bity flower prints. I think I finally figured out the setting to make my pictures click able...try it out!

I loved the colors and the pleats and the design of the waist. It is gorgeous!

This one has the tiny flower print again. It made me think of my grandmothers aprons.
This is one of my Grandmothers aprons. She made it herself.
This is also another one made by my Grandma. I wish I would have learned how to sew while she was still alive.
I don't wear the last 2 often, but every once in a while I slip one on if I am making something she used to make.
Tea towels... I wish I had some from both my Grandmas but somehow I don't. The white ones with embroidery on them, that's what makes me think tea towels. I love kitchen towels with pictures or designs. I have Christmas themed ones, winter themed, summer, spring, and fall too. I won't show them all, just a few of my favorites.
So, I had to add a sunset picture as filler since I didn't take enough tea towel pictures! Up top next to the sunset is a gingerbread man towel, it is one of my many Christmas towels. Next to Gingy is a towel we received as part of a wedding gift from one of my Best friends. The orange wrinkly mess is my newest addition, I loved the wheat and the orange. The sunflower in the middle, it came in a 3 pack, and I love Sunflowers! The green one has a Turkey on it. The last 2 things are from Germany, the first is actually a place mat which I also have the same design as a table runner, last is a potholder. Not tea towels but still kitchen related!
I'm am off to ogle at aprons! Stop by Ms Cellania's she will show you where to go!

Ready...Aim...

Yet another parental kid oriented post. It happens alright! At least I warned you. My youngest turned 3 in June. It's that time again...where I have to train me to train him to pee and poop in the potty. That was full on Mommy speak. I am very pissy right now. I don't want to do this again. It sucks. It really sucks when the boy trying to be trained has the type of attitude like, " You want me to do WHAT? In WHERE? Nahh, I think these tighty whiteys will do just fine."

I have to admit I am only doing this halfheartedly because I am just not into it partly because he's not into it. To make things worse the hubby isn't even on board! Twice this week I have left him in charge so I could go to the store. #3 was in his tighty whiteys when I left, when I came home he was in a diaper. Can I get a little help around here? Is it too much to ask that we be on the same page? I think he is reading a different book.

Speaking of books, I'm off to read "Once upon a Potty" the BOY version for the billionth time in my life. In the meantime I will keep chanting my new mantra "This too shall pass"

Toy recall

OK so this is rather boring, and I really do not think that anyone who reads this has small children that would have any toys that might be affected by this recall but ya never know...At least I provide lovely visuals!
I came across this today. I can safely say that my 3 yr old has half of the Diego toys listed but thankfully only one was purchased after May 1 2007. The Diego tool belt which we have already lost the spotting scope, and it wasn't silver like the one pictured it was all orange so I think that we are actually ok. It is not just Diego toys possibly affected by this recall, Dora, and Sesame Street stuff and a few others so please check it out.
I still sent in my info so they could send me something to determine if my toy really has unacceptable lead levels. I just can not believe that any toys today are made with any amount of lead. I know it is a miracle most of us are living today what with no car seats and actual Little people, which I still have and let my boys play with, when we were young.

If I come up with anything more interesting than toy recalls I'll be back. I think I will be at eBay buying up all the cool Original Little people stuff I can find!
