It does only come round once every 4 years, I highly doubt I will be blogging 4 years from now so carpe diem, write a post on leap day.
At the moment I am having an internal struggle... over something ridiculous.
I shampooed my carpets today...well just the majority of my living room...I didn't move any furniture... in my mind the carpet under the furniture is spic and span!
I am so excited tomorrow is March. Spring is almost here! Spring is almost here!
Tomorrow is coming in like a lamb for us...I think our high might be 67. A good portion of my day will be spent soaking up some sun while I scoop up some dog shit. yea.

Answers
I really didn't think that ya'll would have guessed correctly, but ya did. The answer to yesterday's multiple choice is B. a bag of microwave popcorn and one apple. Let's just say I didn't know that popcorn and an apple was something someone on a diet ate for a meal. I ate popcorn and an apple for 3 nights in a row because I knew I needed to eat something even though I didn't feel like eating anything. I wasn't ill, I lacked the desire to eat. I'm not dieting, not that there's anything wrong with dieting...I just do not have the will power needed to diet. Portion control? Yes. Counting calories? Fuck no. Denying my taste buds delicious foods? Hell FUCK no! Maybe I should be dieting. My fat flabby gut is disgusting me, yet I lack motivation to get up off my ass and exercise. I have done it before. I know that exercising will give me more energy, I know I will feel better if I just do it. I'm going to stop talking about it now because I am not trying to whine or make excuses.
Speaking of whining...when my children whine, scream,or cry while they are trying to tell me something or ask me something I often ask them if they are speaking English, because I can't understand what they are saying. Last night at 5 minutes to midnight my middle boy comes into the bedroom not quite crying...it's hard to explain how he sounded. After trying to figure out why he was up and what was wrong I told him to go to the bathroom. He did, came back out still half assed crying and incoherent. Me being tired and frustrated asked him,"Are you speaking English?" and he said, "NO." I replied,"I thought so." He says, "Sometimes I speak English." I tucked him back in bed and I just kept laughing inside, thinking I need to blog this!
Take a look at my new best friend.
Why is a box of tissue my new best friend? This is no ordinary box of tissue. It is tissue plus lotion, WITH the sent of VICKS!!! I started feeling a cold coming on yesterday and now this box of tissue is my new best friend.
I'm pretty sure most of you have headed over to Nikki's and voted for your favorite Elvis. For those late comers or lurkers(like I have any of those) head over to Nikki's and vote for your favorite Elvis. You have until midnight February 29th.

Multiple Choice
What did I eat for dinner for the past 3 nights? For those that call lunch dinner I am referring to my evening meal.
A. Spaghetti
B. A bag of microwave popcorn and one apple
C. Ramen noodle soup
Let me know what you think in my comments, I'll let you know the answer in tomorrows post.
Onto other stuff. My oldest got his braces taken off today. I remember when he got them on last year they made him look older. Now that they are off...OMG he looks even older. It's not fair watching him get older. I am getting all teary eyed. My middle guy is doing the same thing to me. He has lost a total of 6 baby teeth...he just turned 5 this past December. He already has 3 big guy teeth poking in. Watery eyes over here.
Don't forget to get on over to Nikki's to vote for your favorite Elvis sighting photo. I am linking to the contest post, but after you vote click on her header to read what other funny/crazy things she's got to say! I'm really hoping I get a CD...but I'm not telling which ones are mine. I'm only going to be shameless with my vote, I will wait until late Friday to cast it too! Rock the Vote! lol!

Fun Monday What's in a name?
This week's hostess is Mariposa. Is it just me or does anyone else start singing"Mariposa and the butterfly fairies"? I'd like to think that the commercials are on overkill because the DVD is due out this Tuesday as opposed to me having Nick Jr. on entirely too much. On to her assignment which is twofold:
(1) Please share to us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I can't wait to hear interesting funny stories!
(2) Please share to us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!
When I started blogging back in June I named my blog "Momma K & 3 Lil Men". About 13 or 14 posts into blogging I decided to change it. I didn't want potential readers to think my blog was all about my kids and being a Mom , in other words I was afraid of people just skipping over it thinking it was just another mommy blog before reading another word. I made the change before I had any readers. Well I had one reader, my BFF Fianna...okay I had 2 if you count my hubby. How did I come up with Lady K?
One word: Thunderbirds.Something made me think of Thunderbirds, maybe it was the mini Thunderbird 1 I kept stepping on,which then made me think of Lady Penelope. So I thought instead of Momma K, why not Lady K? I thought it was sassy. It is meant to be funny. I am far from a lady, I belch, I fart, I swear like a Marine, I get dirty, I don't sugar coat anything, I don't shove sunshine up anyones ass...hence the tag line for my blog.I started to tire of my blog name back in September. I thought up some new blog names and put up a poll in my sidebar during the month of November asking readers to help me choose a new blog name. It is still there, closed but there. I was really feelin' the name that received the most votes until Karisma suggested " A bugs Life". I really, really like that name but all I could think of was the Disney/Pixar movie by the same name and I am afraid of what Disney/Pixar would do to me if I used the name of their movie as my blog name, copyright laws and all. Then Beckie suggested "A Kaytabug's Life", and WT offered up "Bugger This". I am terrible at making decisions, or being creative so I just never made one. Maybe some day I will choose a new blog name but for now it remains the same. Feel free to put your 2 cents in if you like. I am open for suggestions.
On to a favorite dish.
Well it is one of my favorites! You can always count on me to be a smart ass!
I do have favorite foods like Spaghetti, dill pickles, brownies, strawberry rhubarb pie, Art's & Mary's Salt 'N Crack'd Pepper potato chips, Pot Roast, Braeburn apples, Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup to name a few.
Go back to Mariposa's and check out the rest of the players this week.

Eyes of the Blogger
I need to do this more often. Look what I did.
Only one thing I counted as Christmas remains. It's the snowman frame I received from my youngest this year. Snowmen are appropriate decor in my home as long as it's still winter.
There are only 2 things I removed from this scene that weren't Christmas related...well 3 if you want to count some dust!
I really do thank you all for taking the time to look at my picture. All of you helped me get motivated to do something about my Christmas remnants.
WT was so very observant. He let me know I had a lighter in reach of children. I never thought about that until he mentioned it so I moved it a little bit higher. I didn't do anything about the manual he spied or what he thought was cards on top of the T.V. which are 2 Netflix DVD's, a CD, and the reference guide for the Dish. He also commented on some artwork. I thought I'd share the close ups of those.
This first pair was not pictured. They are hanging just to the left of the picture I took. My oldest son drew these at Christmas time. He has never seen WT but I think he captured his likeness quite well!
So those were the pictures that inspired my 5 year old to draw Santa too. The one on the left has the red suit on and the red pointy hat with the ball on the end. I think he went a little evil with Santa's elf...
I think it is insane how fast kids develop their skills. My oldest is 10. His art looked very similar to this when he was 5. He doesn't believe me. Maybe I need to refresh his memory!
The Christmas art will come down soon to be replaced with St. Paddy's and Easter art.

Do you see what I see?
What is wrong with this picture? Go on click it to big it, see if you can figure out.
I'd like to say that one of these things just doesn't belong, but there is more than one. There is at least 9 things. I counted 15 but 3 or 4 are difficult to count...like I know they are there and how many there are.
This is the kind of post that happens when I feel like I need to post something and have nothing to post about. I suppose I should follow the rule "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." Oh well.

Fun Monday Signs

Today's Fun Monday is being hosted by the lovely Sayre Smiles. Her challenge was this: "Take your camera with you as you go about your business and take a picture of the things that make you laugh along the way."
Well, I do not have a daily commute. I do take my younger 2 boys to preschool 4 days a week but there are no signs along the way that make me laugh. Signs do make me laugh. Even a "Stop Ahead" sign makes me giggle. Can anyone guess why?
Since I have nothing out and about that makes me laugh I give you signs from inside my home that I see daily as I go about my business.
This sign hangs in my laundry room.

This sign hangs in the entry way by the front door. It says "Bloom Where You're Planted." The word planted is entangled in vines and hard to make out.

This sign hangs over the doorway that leads to the laundry room. I see it while in my dining/living room. I also see it when I am leaving the house. I have to go through the laundry room to get to the garage. The sign says "Raised on Kansas Sunshine".

This sign hangs beside the door that leads to the garage. I see it every time I leave, and when I am doing laundry.

This sign hangs between our garage doors, on the outside. I see this every time I come and go.
Now, head on back to Sayre's place and check out what other's see daily that makes them chuckle!

Skin Deep
After watching 2 of my reality shows previously recorded with the help of my beloved DVR tonight I was about to pick another recorded show to watch when 20/20 came on and one of the stories caught my eye. I am guessing I have been living under a rock for quite some time since this is the first time I have heard about it. Which could be true, I only found out about blogs just 9 months ago. A rock I tell you.
So what am I babbling on about? I don't think you really want to know. OK, so I have your curiosity up now. I just want to warn the reader's of this post that the links I will provide contain photos that may be disturbing to some viewers and is not for the faint at heart. tee hee. No seriously, it really is only for adult eyes, make sure no children will be peering over your shoulder.
I have a 3 minute clip from the 20/20 story, not the entire story I watched, but you will get the gist. Let's just say, I saw dead people....on display. Here you go.
This is the exhibit I want to go see. If you go to that link, at the bottom of the page it lists all the places having that exhibit currently on display. I wouldn't mind seeing this one, but I really do feel that they are acquiring their "models" in a really shady way. If I am going to give someone my money I want to give it to the first one that has consent from the person or their family. I do NOT want to give it to that schmuck Arnie Geller, he's your typical greedy CEO.
I have so many things I want to talk about concerning this but am lacking in someone to talk with. I guess that's why I have shared. Have you heard about this? What are your thoughts?
I feel that once we die our body is just flesh and bones, that what was loved about us is no longer present in the body. It's just a shell. Due to feeling that way I see nothing wrong with this as long as permission is obtained first. Some people request that their bodies be donated to the exhibit prior to their death, much like those that donate their bodies to medical science. Which is why I'd rather see the first one I linked to.
Now you may commence in telling me what a sheltered life I live, or ask me if it's comfortable living under that rock. How about telling me what a sicko I am for sharing this. I can take it. I've got some tough skin. Get it?! I crack me up!

Soul Song
I had a few comments from Monday that thought "I'm a Bitch" was not my song. Oh but it is. I identify with it. It really fits me. I can see though that some do not see me as a bitch, and maybe that is where their issue lies. I said in my reply comments that I would post a few more songs. I think where my issue has been is that I don't feel that there is any song that represents me, aside from "I'm a Bitch". I have to go with a song that comforts me,a song I feel, a song that touches my soul... a soul song.
I have listened to this song on repeat many, many, many times over the years since I first heard it in 1997.
Her voice is so comforting to me. She is one of my favorite singers. I love every single one of her songs. If you want to read the lyrics to this song go here.
If I think of any other songs, I'll post them.

Fun Monday My Song
This Fun Monday is being hosted by The Crown Princess. She said, "I want to hear the ONE song that is you. The song that whenever it is heard, you smile. I am not looking for the soundtrack of your life, just that one song. Your friends hear it and think of you."
I told her when I signed up that I wouldn't be able to pick only one song, but that I promised not to post a soundtrack! When I first read this assignment I thought it would be easy as long as I could add more than one song. The more I thought about it the harder it became. I have a ton of favorite songs, I listen to a wide variety of music. I think that each friend has a different song that makes them think of me. For instance one of my best friends has Girls Just Want to Have Fun set as my ringtone on her phone. Whenever I call her that is what she hears. I have another best friend that once told me that Jimi Hendrix's Highway Child made her think of me due to my love of Road Trips.
I think of my 3 Best Friends that I have had since Kindergarten, which includes Fianna, whenever I hear Lean on Me the version by Club Nouveau.
There are just so many, many songs that I relate to, that make me smile. In the end I was able to pick just one song for me.
Now I think I am going to ask all of my friends what song/s make them think of me. This was really interesting! Thanks Crown Princess! Now go to back to her place and check out what everyone else thinks is their song.

I got Royal Mail!
ROYAL MAIL! How cool is that?!! When I pulled the package out of my mailbox the first thing I noticed was the blue Air mail sticker. I was puzzled. I wasn't expecting anything in the mail. Did I order a book from an Amazon.com marketplace seller and forget about it. Then my eyes finally saw the ROYAL MAIL, and I finally put 2 and 2 together! It was from Chris B! A while back she had a quiz to see how many types of vinegar we could think of. Enidd thought of more than I did. I offered as many as I could think of plus I did guess at how many types were listed in her book. I didn't get that right either but Chris still asked for our address and said she would send out a small prize. The quiz post can be found here, the winners post here.
Here is a look at the package...I mean Royal Mail...

Here is what was inside...She wrapped it all pretty with a beautiful card!
My vinegar prize is my very own vinegar book!!!!
I am so excited! I can not wait to delve into this book!! Thank you so much Chris! This is a most awesome prize!

Feelin' the Love x4!
I have been given a few blog awards and I am just now getting around to posting about them. I'm feeling really bad because Bev that Sauntering Soul gave me 2 in one day back in January! She passed on to me the "You Make My Day" and the "Excellent Blog Award". Thank you so much Bev!

Then I just got an award from Hootin' Anni', she made it herself! She wanted to thank a few folks for visiting and leaving comments. I tried linking to the post, and couldn't. I tried copying what she typed and couldn't. Man she's good!! If you would like to read what she had to say go to her blog and it was on her Wordless Wednesday post for February 6th. Thanks Anni'! You are a hoot!
Thanks again ladies!
*******EDIT********
The brilliant Willowtree figured out how to get to the actual post and sent me the link in the comments. It had something to do with holding his mouth the right way, sounds kinky! If you would like a direct link to Hootin' Anni's post where she talks of the cute valentine award click here. Now WT just made my day! Well, let's be honest he makes my day everyday so I am going to give him the "You Make My Day" award! I don't think he is accepting awards anymore and that's fine by me, I'm just glad he is back, making my day!
Now late, LATE last night Miss Robinella posted some awards and gave one to me so I need to add that to this post as well. It is "The Spreader of Love" award. Now I don't feel comfortable when it comes to passing along awards, but I guess that is not what this is about. Thank you sweet Robinella!
This one though I must pass along to Sauntering Soul, she totally spreads the love. Also to Deb's in her Valentine Patch, ever since I stumbled upon her blog last summer she has been spreadin' the love. These two lady's are just so super sweet.

Seasoned Traveler
After yesterday's post I had an inquiring mind that wanted to know what 8 states I hadn't been to. I then read Jenni's post and I really related to her #3 . Then I remembered a post I wrote back in August, I see that now is the perfect time to post it.
Some people give me a hard time about my favorite state. Some don't understand why I love her so. It's not like I haven't been to any other state. Take a look at that map. I only need to visit 8 more states before I can say I have seen them all!
I was blessed as a child. My grandparents took me with them in their RV several times. I got to visit places most children only see in books. Times may have changed but I feel that most children never leave their home state. If they do it is most likely that they only travel to the states that boarder theirs. I had been to all of the states West of the Mississippi by the age of 7.
My Mom loves telling the story of when I came back from my first trip with my Grandparents, I was 5 and I told her I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. She asked What? I replied, "Retired."
This was taken in New Mexico. I was 7 in this photo. For those that are regular readers this is the Grandpa that is a Marine who served in WWII and the Korean War. This is the Grandma whose jewelry box I have and will be featuring her "treasures" someday soon. You can get a closer look by clicking on the photo, if you wish.
I love my Grandparent's for showing me that there was more out there than just my backyard. I love to travel and take road trips because of them. I visited almost all of the states East of the Mississippi once I was an adult. I miss them. I know they live on in me and that I will do my best to show my boys more than our own backyard.

I replied, "Retired."I love my Grandparent's for showing me that there was more out there than just my backyard. I love to travel and take road trips because of them. Fun Monday Bucket List
Today's lovely hostess is Tiggerlane and she has asked us to share our Bucket List.
I have never really thought about what I would like to do before I die. I have sat here in front of my computer screen trying to think of what I want to see and do someday. Here is what I came up with...
At least it's a start. Go back to Tiggerlane's to check out what other folks want to do before they croak.
I have never really thought about what I would like to do before I die. I have sat here in front of my computer screen trying to think of what I want to see and do someday. Here is what I came up with...
- Attend a K-State Football home game.
- Swim with the Dolphins.
- Go Whale watching.
- Read more books...I'd like to at least finish those 6 books.
- Visit the 8 States I haven't been to.
- I want to visit the Mesa Verde, to see the cliff dwellings and top houses.
- I would love to travel to a LOT of countries. I will name a few... Africa, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, England, New Zealand, Greece, Russia, Egypt...
At least it's a start. Go back to Tiggerlane's to check out what other folks want to do before they croak.
