My 2 cents

I really need to start composing posts for later use for days like today...or weeks like this week.
I know I have ample fodder, I just need the time to be able to compose, especially the lengthy in depth ones. Anyway a few of you asked what method products I bought, and some even wanted reviews!

I have only used the first 2 products shown. First is the Omop all floors cleaner. I like the lemon ginger smell. I love the fact that the microfiber mop pad is washable and reusable. This is so much better than my swiffer wet. It will take a little getting used to squirting the liquid on the floor...figuring out how much I need, I'll get there. It drys fast, faster than the swiffer wet mop and faster than regular moping with pine sol. That is a big plus for me. It did leave a nice shine to my linoleum. I haven't used it yet on the stone tile in my entry. I haven't used their biodegradable sweeping cloths..so this isn't a very thorough review...but I am very pleased!!

This is the other one I have used. Well 2 but one is just the microfiber cloth designed to use on wood and trap dust and trap dust it does! I did a smell check of all of the products and the Wood for good wood surface cleaner was my least favorite. BUT after spraying on and wiping with the cloth it left a very pleasant after smell. Something I might not have discussed much on my blog is my overly sensitive to smells nose. The bottle says almond and yes taking the top off it smells just like almond paste...nasty smell to me...but like I said it leaves a very nice after smell...almost like sweet faint baby powder, just my opinion. As for how it works...I don't dust. Okay I dust about twice a year. So I really can't say how it works or even to compare it. I do miss the lemon smell of pledge but I'll survive. One other thing that really has nothing to do with this product and everything to do with my lazy ass....is that I can't dust off anything else that needs wiping if it isn't wood. I had been using those swiffer dust thingys so I could wipe everything...not that they worked all that great at trapping all the dust...Oh well I'll figure something else out...just seems like double work to me.
These are the last 3 products I purchased. I haven't used these yet. I have smelled and they pass my smell check. The tub and tile spray smells nice yet still smells like it's going to clean! I will do another post someday on these last 3 products.

Have a great green day all!

Fun Monday Favorite walk

Today's Fun Monday is being hosted by The Lurchers. The task set forth this week was simple: take everyone on your favorite walk. I thought I didn't have anything. As is obvious from this post, I haven't been walking. I really do enjoy going for walks but in nature filled areas not blacktop suburbia, even though my "number" begs to differ.

So here I sat feeling sad I was going to miss out on Fun Monday when it hit me!! I do have a walk. A most special walk. I'll let the post speak for itself.

I have taken many walks down that path after becoming a Mom. I have walked there in all 4 seasons. I would have taken current pictures but it is located in Kansas, which sadly I am not. So there you have it. That is one of my favorite walks. Go back to The Lurchers and take a look at more lovely walks.

Color me Green

Not the envy green...environmental green! Look at what I got in the mail today...things that had been on my wish list for quite sometime now.

I have been using 7th generation for the toilet and their dishwasher detergent. I also use Ecover dish washing liquid. Now I have just upped my arsenal of Eco friendly cleaning products and I am so happy!!

What is this? It's a cute lil insulator/protector for this.....
I hate to cover up this bottles beauty but seeings how it is aluminum it needs something to keep my hands from freezing. No more plastic water bottles. This is also what I will be taking to the gym. Love it!

My younger 2 are always complaining that they want something to drink as soon as I pick them up from preschool, plus with summer coming...what better way than these bottles!! It helps keep the liquids cool too...esp with the lil insulator I got them. Just like mine, but navy blue. No more plastic bottles.
If you would like links here they are...for the method products..... for the Sigg bottles... that takes you to the site I bought them from...it has loads of other awesome products too.
Now I'm off to go use my new cleaning products!! I think this is the first time I have ever been excited about cleaning!!

Numbers

I know I gave a tease of a post yesterday. I'm good like that. At the moment I am a tad preoccupied by a number I received at the DR today. So for now you will get something that wasn't in the preview.

I do not obsess over the number that shows up on a scale. I do not own a scale nor will I ever own one. The number that is my weight has never mattered to me. Today it is starting to matter. I was shocked when the nurse told me my number. I didn't say anything to her, I didn't react until she left the room. I then just kept repeating that number like a question. It has been 5 hours since I was told my number and I blurt the number out like someone with Tourettes. (sorry) I even have started including some form of fuck along with my number. I am still in disbelief at how fucking high my number is. I have known that I am not sitting at my ideal weight, but I never thought I was truly overweight. I thought I was still in the range.
Let's look at some other numbers shall we?

BMI short for Body Mass Index. My BMI is 26.5, if I say I am 6 foot (I am only 1/4 of an inch away) my BMI is 25.8 both numbers fall in the overweight category.

Normal weight BMI: 18.5-24.9
Overweight BMI: 25-29.9

At my current number(weight) I need to loose 20 pounds to fall within normal range. And that would just be the high end of the normal BMI range. I would be okay with that because the last time I was at the low end of the BMI range for my height I was a freshman in High School, I was just 14 years old.

Though I do remember the first day of Gym class my freshman year...Fianna you might remember this... We had to be weighed and measured...and the upper class men(probably Juniors or Seniors) enjoyed guessing the girls weight before they were weighed. They said they had not guessed incorrectly within 5 pounds either way all day long. I loved making them be wrong. They guessed what they thought I weighed at least 15 pounds less than what I did. No one has ever believed my weight. I guess I carry it well, maybe it's just evenly dispersed. So you see why my number never meant anything to me. I have always looked less that what I am....god I hope that is still true now.

I think it is. When I told my friend what my number was she said "NO WAY! You do NOT look that number." Instead of telling her to stop trying to shove sunshine up my ass I explained to her what my weight was when we met, which was when my oldest was 3 yrs old. What my weight was right before I found out I was expecting my 3rd child...even what it was the summer of 2006. It put it into perspective for her. Even after the perspective check, she still thought I do NOT look my number. I was telling her I needed to loose 30 lbs if I want to be what I was right before finding out I was expecting my 3rd baby. That number would make my BMI 22.3. For now, I will be happy to be a 24.
Just so you know, I am aware that one could figure out my number if they had the inquiring mind to do so, just keep it to yourself please. Feel free to share your BMI with me.

Photo Contest

I first heard about this photo contest over at Lisa's Chaos. So, I popped over to the hostess, Are we there yet Mom to check it out. As soon as I found out there was no theme, that I could post whatever I wanted...I had to post an entry! Then I quickly realized that without the guidance of a theme I was going to have a very difficult time choosing one photo. Here it is...

This is a favorite of mine. I just love how I caught the rays of sunshine bursting through the tree. Click it to see more detail.

If you would like to enter head on over to Are we there yet Mom and read her rules. You have until April 28 to enter. Then the voting starts. Wow I think this is the first photo contest I have entered. That is pretty cool!

A Preview

I actually have a lot to blog about but I am failing at choosing just one. I have so many other things to do today. Maybe tonight I can compose and save for upcoming days. For today you get a list of what's in store for you here at my blog! In no particular order....

~
Sayre was the only one to ask a question in my What have you done? post. She asked "Picked up and moved to another city to start over... Did you pick one close to home or some place as far away as possible from where you were? And why?" This is easily a 2 parter, maybe even 3!

~I read about a photo contest while reading at Lisa's. Are we there yet mom is hosting a photo contest. You and I have until April 28th to post a photo for the contest. There is no theme so it can be ANYTHING your lil heart desires!!

~It should be no surprise to anyone that is a regular here that Everyday is Earth Day for me. So expect one or 2 green posts from me.

~ Sayre's My Life is a Mess challenge, I'm slacking...and will probably choose one of my garden beds as a before and after in the near future.

~One of these days I WILL post about my fat ass getting to the gym. It just has to happen first.

~I'm sure there are other thing's but my brain is taking a really LONG fart. Excuse me. I'll get back to you all later!

ps sorry for any extras of this that shows up in bloglines....the bullets weren't right when published and I forgot to make the text larger...still need to get into the html and up the default txt size.

Yes I edited again because I forgot to list the meme I was tagged by Janet to do. It'll be fun!!

Fun Monday: In my Life...

The Southern Doll is this weeks lovely hostess. She wants to hear what we have done in our lives that was worth doing, which moments have made our lives sweet.

I really don't know why I have had a hard time with this. It should be easy. Am I not the optimist I think I am? I feel as though I can't come up with anything. I am starting to wonder what it really means by me having trouble with this. Let's just move on shall we?

The first thing that did come to mind was the feeling I had when I first held each of my babies and looked into their eyes. I don't think there is a word to describe how that felt. I felt MORE than joy, contentment, elation, being complete, relief, connected, bliss...I even felt more than love. I also felt like time stood still and that my baby and me were the only 2 souls around. Even all of that does not come close to describing how I felt.

There are so many things that have made my life sweet. Maybe my problem is not that I couldn't come up with any but that I couldn't possibly narrow it down, or even begin to list them all. I also really believe that everything happens for a reason, and I have no regrets about anything I have done in my life. I feel that everything I have done in my life has been worth doing, I loved them all. My 3 boys by far will be the ones that stick out the most.

Head back over to Southern Dolls place and check out what moments everyone else shared.

It's a Gas, gas,gas.

I don't know if this will be as funny just typed out without hearing the way my son said it but I'm going to try.

Last night, I am sorta laying on the couch with my head on my hubby's shoulder. My youngest sits down in the only space left on the couch, which happened to be downwind. I had to let one rip, so I did. My 3 yr old says "EWWWW Mommy! You farted!"(said with extreme disgust) I said, "Excuse me." I had barely started saying that when he starts to cuddle up to me and says in the most loving voice "I LOOOOOVE you Mommy."
Am I just his dream girl or what?! Do I need to tell all future girlfriends that the way to his heart is take pride in your farts, and just let 'em rip?

Oh my goodness. I was just about to hit publish when my middle guy let 2 juicy sounding farts rip, but get this he did it in time with the song the Backyardigans were singing to the tune of "She'll be comin' round the Mountain when she comes".Fart, fart.
Never a dull moment.

This is for the Birds!

One birdie shy of a dozen!
Seriously Mr. Squirrel it's for the birds!

This is our grill. Do you see what I see?

How about now?

It was really cool watching Mrs. Robin fly under there with grass in her beak but I had to pull it out and move the grill. The next time we went to grill she would leave her eggs. She hadn't laid any yet. She hadn't even started pulling out her chest down for the nest. I felt so horrible taking away all of her hard work. I still feel bad. I don't think she did her homework to well. Both of our dogs noses can reach that nest. I'm glad I caught it before she laid her eggs.

But More importantly that last before shot lead to this........

My shoes are behind my closet door instead of on the floor!! Yes, your eyes do not deceive. You see one of the flannels I said I was going to get rid of. It would make a nice "Jacket" to wear over my overalls when I am doing yard work or working in my garden on those days it's just a bit nippy out.
Thank you to Sayre for challenging me to clean out my closet!!!
Unfortunately I recently cleaned out and straightened up my linen closet so I will wait for your next challenge! I am excited to find out what you will choose next!!

What Not to Wear

If Clinton and Stacy ever got their hands on the clothes in my closest I'd be lucky if they let me keep 10 things. And that is being generous! I have some more items that I am saying goodbye to. Yesterday I showed you all things Medium that I said goodbye too. Today is full of "What not to Wear"! I have not been wearing these, they have just been taking up space. I stand corrected. They have been collecting dust, literally!

This is a shirt. Yes, you read correct. I said shirt. I wore this as a junior in High school. I probably wore it a couple of times since then but it really hasn't been on my body since at least my very early 20's if then...

I had to show a close up for the color. Now I see a stain. This is going in the trash.
These next 2 are my 90's grunge flannel! I even wore one wrapped around my waist to an Alice in Chains concert in '92 or '93. They opened for OZZY, during his "No more tours " tour.I like how that worked out for him!!
It's time to let them go. "I'll see you on the other side."
The picture above was so dark I had to show the colors...then the flash just washed it out but whatever.
There should not be any maternity clothes in my freakin' closet. I don't care how comfy or cute it is. I did wear this at least a year ago, hangs head in shame...but that was before the belly started looking like I was 3 or 4 months pregnant. It just looked like a cool hippie top on me.
This shirt is not maternity but I bought it to be a maternity top. I think it is a 22W and it is the most comfortable shirt EVER! I may have a hard time parting with it. It would make a great painters shirt...
I need to buy some paints.

Medium

For those that may not have visited Sayre's challenge post you wouldn't know what our favorite magazine is. It also happens to be a favorite of my BFF. She emailed me a link today on the topic of organizing your closet, how appropriate. Thanks hon'. I really wouldn't have thought to "wipe down my closet with a mild, fresh smelling soap". Seriously, I wouldn't have. Now this is turning into a bigger task. So Fianna, when are you coming to help me? ;)

You know it's time to get rid of clothing in your closet when they have accumulated DUST. It's bad enough that quite a few hangers were dusty, it is something else entirely when the clothing has dust on it. The first thing I have done in my closet was to look at each item and decide whether it stays or goes. From the start I said to myself, "If I find anything that is a size Medium it HAS to GO!" Have a look at all things Medium that HAD to GO!

I loved this shirt. I wore it in our 2nd family portrait. I wore this during the 4 years I only had one child. That goes for all but one shirt I am going to show today.

This is a favorite ADIDAS shirt. My hubby loved this shirt on me. I really can't remember the last time I wore this shirt. I might have worn it once right before I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I had actually gotten back down to pre-pregnancy size right before getting knocked up again.

This is such a beautiful shade of purple, the picture does not do it justice!! Fat chance in hell I'd ever get back into this, or look good in it.Quite possibly the toughest one for me to let go. I love this shirt. I have had numerous "I love that shirt" comments. Haven't worn this for over a year. There is a very good possibility I could trim down enough to look good in this again but...

This one is super comfy, just like the first one and the purple one. This one I bought from Vicki's Secret. So comfy, but I'm just not medium...doubt I ever will be. Getting rid of these shows me that I am coming to terms with that.

Now I am a little bummed out. I'll get over it though.

Closet of Doom

While visiting Sayre yesterday for Fun Monday I couldn't help but notice my favorite magazine in her post below. Of course I had to go read. She has started a challenge and I joined. She has called it "MY LIFE IS A MESS CHALLENGE!" My life IS a mess. Her first challenge is her closet. I had already been thinking of tackling mine. So many clothes I have not worn for years taking up precious space...but it is a total mess, a clutter fuck. If this is the only challenge of hers I participate in it will be worth it! Head over to her place if you want to join. You get a week to complete said closet challenge from the day you post photos of offending closet.

Okay, I want you to imagine the Jaws music playing as you view these photos.... Oh my gawd I can not believe I am doing this. So I just took the photos and It's not as bad as I thought it was...What you might not be able to tell is that there are layers in there...a lot of layers...I see where my kids get their stalling tactics from... Cue Jaws music...

I did not photo hubby's portion...that is his mess. Some of the shelves on the right hand side of the 2nd to last photo belong to hubby so I will not be tackling his shelves either.

I might share photos over the coming week of whatever my heart desires. If you think you see something in these photos that you might want let me know. It may be something I am getting rid of...just ask! I'll show a more detailed photo of something if asked!
Now off to work I go, high ho.

Fun Monday Crush**Edited**

Jo Beaufoix is our hostess for this lovely Fun Monday. She has asked that we share our first crush. That's easy, his name was Tobin and we first met in Kindergarten. I had a crush on him until about 7th or 8th grade. What's that you say? Who was my first CELEBRITY crush? OH SNAP!

I do not remember my FIRST celebrity crush. I do remember my so called best friends gave me a hard time about the celebs I thought were hot. Sometimes I did not go with the "crowd" when it came to picking who I thought was the hot guy in any given band. I should have had Fianna do this as a guest post, I am sure she remembers better than me the guys I thought were to die for.

I remember having posters from Tiger Beat up on my bedroom walls but I can't remember who all I deemed worthy to grace them.
I loved River Phoenix RIP. I am almost positive he was on my walls. He was for sure my crush.

Sean Astin was so cute in The Goonies, here is a perfect example where my friends would give me a hard time because they would say "Josh Brolin was way hotter, gah!"
See what I had to put up with? I doubt I had Sean up on my walls though. The crushes I had on celebs as a young girl were just blips on the screen of life. I am not even embarrassed about them either. Now photos of me back then, that's a different story! Head back over to Jo's to see what crushes the rest of the participants had back in the day.
*************************************************************************************
O.H. my Gwad! I can't believe I forgot about Ricky Schroder! He had to have been my first crush. I remember as a little girl swooning over him! um, I think I might be getting a lil pink in the cheeks now...

Spring Fever

You all are such a supportive bunch. Thanks for all the positive feedback on my blogs new looks.
Now that I added that nifty little recent comment thingy, I am thinking about commenting on my comments again. I used to try but stopped due to thinking it was a waste of time because I thought no one read them, even though I really want to respond to each and everyone so it is not a waste of time at all.

I thought I had something I wanted to blab about but at the moment I am drawing a blank. I think it is a combination of the soothing music I have on and the hour in which I type(1:45 AM). When I sat down here I was wide awake and my mind was racing. I knew I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, so I thought I'd read some blogs and type out a post. You like how that turned out, dontcha? I am still not sleepy but the mind is not racing anymore. That makes it hard to pull out something to write about.

Tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day here. It will most likely be spent in the garage helping the hubs clean it out. Oh wait, he hates my help. There is always laundry. I swear the stuff just self regenerates. I guess I should add some more pictures to my flickr page. I haven't updated it since last June. Speaking of pictures, I really want to get a Digital SLR with a couple of lenses. I don't know which digital SLR or which lenses to get. Anyone have any suggestions??
Seriously, ya'll are becoming like my own personal Dear Abby! I really need to force myself to bed now. I was going to type "Sleep tight." then realized ya'll will be reading this in the morning (except maybe ChrisB and WT) so I should say Good Morning, but that is such an oxymoron. I am SO not a morning person.

I did it!

So I like the new look. I read that I can change that photo but I have to do it in edit html mode, not as simple as going in to my Layout and clicking on edit header button and browsing my computer or the internets for whatever photo I wanted to upload to my header.

Let's talk about HTML shall we? I have spent about 2 hours reading the html code for this new template trying to figure out where to put the link in for those nifty tabs. When I was looking at all of various templates out there on the web I knew I wanted those nifty tabs. They aren't so fucking nifty if you don't know how to get a link in there to make them useful.
What if I want to change the name of one?? Don't know how to do that either.

2 hours later.....

So I was being very hard headed and stopped typing and went back to edit html for the template and after about another hour I figure it out!!! I am the WOMAN! I Kick ASS!! I had to click on expand widget templates which shows more text and I finally saw the text for the tabs, or should I say html, and figured out where to insert links. I know I can change the name of the tabs too and I will. I don't need the INFO one. What should it be??? ohhhh the possibility's are endless!!
I am just so happy now that I figured it out!! I was having a difficult time resizing a photo of mine to be the size needed to go where MY sunflowers are. That's right I even changed the photo. Now I just need a better photo. Remember from yesterday, I WANT to be able to use my own photos and switch them out when I feel like it! Woo hoo!!! Now I need to get some sleep. My eyes are dry and red and oh so very tired!!!

Thank you to everyone that gave me advice yesterday!!! Muwah!

New Looks

I REALLY want to change the look of my blog. I'm board with it's looks and I want to kick it up a notch. BAM!

Damn, that wasn't the magic word. Nothing happened.
I think I would like to keep the option of being able to choose/change my header photo whenever I feel like it. Other than that do YOU have any ideas?

Don't all jump in at once.

crickets chirping

Oh well, it never hurts to ask.

Getting to know me...
