This Monday's hostess is the delicious Irish Coffeehouse. She has asked what career we wanted as a child and what career we would have if we could do anything we wanted and start the job tomorrow.
This is super easy for me, so easy I am so ashamed I didn't get this post typed out and ready to go days before today!
As far back as I can remember I wanted to be an Astronaut. The first time I rode a roller coaster that dream flew out the window, along with my lunch! The other job I dreamed of having when I grew up was to be a Marine Biologist. I longed to play with the dolphins and whales and get paid to do it. The reason I never pursued that job was because I did not go to college!
If I could be a Marine Biologist tomorrow I would. One other job I would like to do is a horticulturist. I love plants and I love playing in the dirt!
If you would like to read what other bloggers wanted to be when they grew up check out Irish Coffeehouse for the list.

Well, your aspirations are diverse, I'll say that. Playing in the water or dirt, sound like fun.
My neighbor has a PhD in marine biology. He teaches high school resource room. Just thought it was an interesting tidbit.
Playing in the dirt is fun!
I had all the same dreams as you, except the astronaut one...I never liked heights!!
what totally fun job goals!
you made me laugh about the astronaut and the rollercoaster... i feel the same way. (urp)
Ok - stay with me here.
Houston = Home of NASA.
Houston = Stones throw from marine animals. And biology, I am sure.
Houston = Plants. Not my plants, but this is a very lush green area. With weird tropically things like bromeliads and palm trees.
Houston = Your BFF Rose lives here.
I think you are the first astronaut today! Marine biologists sounds a very interesting career :)
Interesting job aspirations, you dreamed of flying into space and delving into the deeps. Now your dream job is down to Earth. Do you do any gardening? Gardening is like being an unpaid horticulturist.
I just want to walk on the moon just once!
Horticulturist definitely sounds like fun! :)
Marine biologist would be an interesting job to have. I've always loved biology. Horticulturist could be interesting, too. I think being one of the staff naturalists at the nature center would be an amazing job. That would give me the opportunity to teach and work with kids but not full time and it would be in a field in which I have a lot of interest. I've also thought it would be fun to work for the U.S. Forest Service or at a national park.
BTW, have you and the boys been to Great Plains Nature Center yet? How did you like Exploration Place and the body exhibit?
I would NEVER make it as an astronaut. My tummy likes to stay upright and still - and you know, stuff FLOATS in space. Gross!
I couldn't be a horticulturist either (but not for the same reason). I'm taking care of a friend's plants while he's in China doing the Olympics and I just pray they're still alive when he gets home!
I can picture you as an astronaut. Working with flowers would be cool too.
Methinks I missed your Fun Monday post (and I’m way behind on many others but hoping to catch up eventually … they’re still in my ‘reader’ as unread but life’s been way too busy for me). Astronaut is such a ‘kewl’ aspiration! Maybe in my NEXT life ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
wow, veery interesting career choices. I am so scared of rollercoasters, you cannot pay me to get into one
I could have written this post.
Hey.. maybe we can grow an undersea garden on mars?
