First came Fat Pants, now Fat Shirts

You have your t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, long sleeve still cotton but much nicer than a t-shirt shirts, short sleeve cotton but much nicer than a t-shirt shirts, and sweaters. I know there are many other types of tops but the aforementioned shirts are the only ones I own. Now the ones that are cotton but nicer than a t-shirt shirts are somewhat form fitting. I can no longer wear them without looking like a fat slob, or like I am 4 months pregnant. I tell you this, not to whine, but rather to out myself.

See, I figure if I tell the entire WWW that my tummy is now a blubber gut that I can no longer contain in my pants, that I can no longer fit into the pants that I wore comfortably for 2 years AFTER my 3rd son was born, that I just saw I have upper back fat that is thicker than the love handles I have...that putting all this out here will motivate me to get up off my ass and go do something about it already! Both my younger 2 are in preschool for 3 hours, 4 days a week. I have no excuse anymore. I have read a few posts from bloggers that are heading back to the gym, trying to loose some weight. I was motivated by a couple of Janet's posts and Blue Momma has written a couple on this topic as well. I totally relate to Blue Momma on not enjoying doing things alone. I have a very close friend a few streets away that goes to the gym Tuesdays and Thursdays. Again I say, I have no excuse.

For 3 months I have told this friend I need to remake my workout play list and then I will go. Do you think I have even tried to do that? Hell no! I really do not understand my lack of motivation. I will weigh myself but I will not judge my progress by weight alone. INCHES is what matter most to me. I want to wear clothes that show that I do have a figure, curvy as it may be. I am just tired of wearing over sized shirts to hide my fat. Yes, I know fat is relative to each individual. Everyone has a different body structure and what's fat for one is not for another. I am debating on whether or not I should post my weight or just the amounts I loose or maybe just my starting inches and then how many I loose. I keep thinking of Pamela and how she clearly states "that a woman who will tell her age or her weight will tell anything. I won't tell mine, so you can trust me." Sure I will tell you anything about myself, but I want to be trusted. Now I am unsure what I will divulge. For today, I have dibulged more than enough.

I think it's harder to get motivated in the winter, your body wants more of the comfort foods. Start small maybe set yourself a daily target. Like cutting down on portion size and taking a brisk walk. Mind you I should take my own advice as I notice my clothes getting tighter!!

Too true! Winter = comfort foods.
I have been watching my portion at home, I am sure I can improve that in other places though.

I will happily tell you my age but never my weight. :) SO I guess half the stuff I'm told leaks out?

I am in your shoes!! Last Sunday I started "detoxing" my body from all the holiday splurges!! I ate nothing but lean protein, fresh fruit and veggies and whole grains. Drank lots of water, no coffee, only herb and green tea. I also started walking again. I feel so much better this weekend than I did last weekend!! One day/week at a time!

Fianna~ Honey it is too cold for my side of the walk, so unfair!

robocop~ THANK YOU!

Lisa~ lol Yea I could tell anyone my age, that doesn't bug me...the weight used to never bug me either. I always thought I kept to myself what was confided to me from others.

Alison~ No coffee? I refuse to give up my coffee, I could do everything else! yup one day/week at a time!

laura~ Thanks! and Thanks for visiting!

i think its admirable you are outing yourself. i have inches to lose as well and workout AT HOME for an hour along with the tv (fit tv on cable) i found one guy thats kind of like an odd dark haired arnold schwar.. governor of california.. he's called Gilad. anyway, it took a LOT to get motivated, but even just doing it for a week i looked forward to it again on monday.. because i automatically felt better. try wearing a hat to take your kids to day care and then come home and do a workout (either follow one on tv or a tape) and then go get cleaned up and do a few odd things before going to get them-- you'll feel so much better. you probably wont lose weight the first week or even the first month, but i guarantee you'll feel slimmer and better. you'll gain muscle and the flab will start to melt away.. i? have no excuses. no kids to have put weight on (i too look 4+ months pregnant) and no job currently so i am taking my own words to heart and going to get my workout clothes on. 9 am is workout time at the mousehouse ! cheers! good luck!

I'll see you at the gym...I wish. I need a workout buddy too. Most of the girls I know can't commit to more than one day a week.

Who am I kidding? "I" can't seem to commit to more than one day a week. I always get off to a good start and then, "things' come up, you know.

Let's commit together.

I have been so exhausted and stressed lately that trying to lose the 10 pounds I've been needing to lose for a year is the last thing I want to do.
