Woo Hoo! It is my first time hosting. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! Thanks again to everyone that signed up! Of course I have way more than ONE favorite ornament. I had a really hard time narrowing it down to a few. Now I wish I would have shown more of my favorites. Only one picture from me today....explanation follows....
The Raggedy Ann and Andy in the center are from my childhood. Their arms move. I know they aren't the "name brand" dolls but I love them. A few years back I did buy Hallmarks "name brand" Raggedy Ann and Andy ornaments. They are my favorites too.
I was a bicentennial baby. Those were my mittens. Below and to the right of the mittens are 2 of my many red cookie cutters. These are the kind of cookie cutters my Grandma made her cut out sugar cookies with. Speaking of my Grandma...I mentioned that stocking in the Christmas Traditions FM. She made one of those for each of the grandkids, with their name and birth year on it. She would put candy canes and the first clue that would lead us to find our gift. Below the stocking is a snowflake I have several of these, I believe they are crocheted, I just love them.
Finally is my peace dove, representing my hope for peace.
**Update** After seeing Nikki's fun ornaments on her wish list I just had to pull out a few of my favorite fun ornaments. You will see the Ann and Andy I mentioned. No more talkie just lookie!
Now go on check out the rest of the participants. The list is in the post below! Have a great Fun Monday!

Raggedy Andy & Anne are sure cute~! I guess I've not shopped much for ornaments. There sure are many different ones. This was a great subject!!
Your ornaments are great. I have some crocheted snowflakes that my aunt made, but mine are rather limp.
Thank you for hosting this week's Fun Monday. I have had a very fun evening enjoying ornaments around the world.
What a difference between your favourite Christmas ornaments and mine, lol ! Curious to see the others now ! Was a good idea, thanks !
OMG - I almost posted about my Raggedy Ann ornament that I made in first grade. I still have it and it is really ugly. I didn't even hang it on the tree - I think I might just hang it up this year.
Great collection of faves you have there. I like the mittens!
Thanks for hosting - you are doing a great job!
Those are terrific and special ornaments! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for hosting!
(I signed up in the post listing the participants.)
Whoa! Thos mittens are old! Thanks for hosting, this was a good one.
I'd Like to be added to your list is it too late?
I love your ornaments. I started quilting last year and I made custom made little quilt ornaments for all of us. NLM has started doing woodworking projects, I think he's making the ones this year.

Beautiful and meaningful ornaments! Very cool that you are a bicentennial baby! Gosh, in 1976 I was 12!! LOL
Lovely collection of ornaments! Thanks for hosting!!
those are lovely, as are the memories.
i have one of those crocheted snowflakes, too.
Nice history attached to your ornaments. I wish I still had some of the ones from my childhood.
Love the snowflake. Wouldn't a tree be lovely covered in those? What? I'm older than libsmom? Okay, yeah, quite a bit actually.
I love your treasures and on reflection I don't think I showed the best of mine I might just have to add a couple more pictures.
You chose the right topic to send us down memory lane~ thank you for hosting.
Lovely ornaments. Thanks for hosting this was such a great idea, I love seeing everyone's ornaments
Those are all very cute.
And Willowtree is wrong. Those mittens are not old. I was in third grade in 1976 . . .
This was a great idea!
I love the mittens! Your grandma had an awesome idea.

I treasure the things from my birth year, too. And, I love Raggedy Ann & Andy. I was a huge fan as a tyke, myself.
I love your mittens. We celebrated the bicentennial the year after my graduation. Don't tell Pamela I told you that! ;.D I have 3 crocheted star ornaments on my tree. My step-mom made them for my 3 kids. I add to my tree at least one ornament a year. I think it's great that you have ornaments from your childhood. I guess my children will too. I don't.
You already know I love this week's theme, and now I understand a bit better about why you choose it--ornaments are just tree decorations, they're a tie to our past and memory holders :).
The diversity of your favorites is nice--each one is special in its own way :).
Thanks again for hosting!

What a wonderful collection of ornaments you have. I love the crocheted snowflakes, my grandmother made my mom some and an angel. They are beautiful.

I'm a dork...I totally misread or mis-rememebered the prompt! All that agonizing to chose just one and I could have done them all! :)

I love Raggedy Anne and Andy! :)
I broke the rules and probably posted way to many. Yikes! Thanks for hosting and I love your collection...
Hi kaytabug--first time reading your blog and I love your attitude! I'd love to participate in Fun Mondays--is it as simple as just blogging on the selected topic?
I'll go back and re-read your posts leading up to your turn to host to get the rest of the story, but for this week just wanted to get on the list. Thanks!
Thanks for hosting Kaytabug!
Kaycie, we are the same age! I was in third grade when Lady K entered the world as well.
I didn't have Raggedy Anne and Andy ornaments, but my Raggedy Anne doll was pitiful looking it was so well loved, hugged, and toted around when I was a wee child.
Good job hosting. The mittens are really fun. Your ornaments are on your tree. I need to get going on that tree set up.
Ahhh they are lovely. I especially love the snowflake. It's so pretty.
Thanks for hosting. :D
Loved your ornaments.
My mom has some of those red cookie-cutters - I had totally forgotten them until I saw your post! I'll have to pester her to send them to me - she doesn't make cookies anymore!
Great hosting job. This is my first time and I've enjoyed it. I missed the coffee and cookies though didn't I?
I'm all about sentimental ornaments, too. No Martha Stewart tree for me!
Those are all very special and now I know that you share the year with my little sis too! Thanks for hosting.
thanks so much for all your help getting me started. I really have enjoyed my first FM! I love your ornaments, they are beautiful.
I like your mittens. My oldest daughter was also a bicentennial baby, but in Australia of course. Ours was in 1988.
Thanks for hosting this week. Its been fun.
All I can focus on was that you were a Bi-centennial Baby.
I was teaching school and directed a place for the Bi-Centennial.
I AM old.
Love the or-ma-nents.
Swampy's Place
...directed a PLAY, not place.
I love yours. Can I borrow them? And a tree? And a tree stand and skirt?
I think it is so awesome that your Grandma had such a strong tradition of making a stocking for the grandkids and then the treasure hunt. What memories!!
I have officially updated. But don't get excited.
I'm still making my way through the FM list! Your ornaments are great, love the raggedy andy and anne. Great job hosting your first Fun Monday!
I love the ornies in the updated pic.
Thanks for hosting you did a wonderful Job!! :)
Who is hosting the next one??
Sorry I did not make this Fun Monday. The week has been hectic.
I love the Raggedy Ann and Andy ornaments! I had a Raggedy Ann doll that I wore out when I was little. :)
